1991 Acura NSX

Honda had a strong Formula 1 presence in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, having provided engines for the Williams and McLaren racing teams. This gave them the opportunity to utilize the expertise of the legendary Ayrton Senna to develop a new supercar to compete against its more exotic contemporaries, especially the Ferrari 328 and 348. The result of these efforts was the Honda NSX, a car that earned countless praise for the rigidity of its chassis, agile handling, and ergonomic cockpit resembling that of an F-16 fighter jet. Even Gordon Murray, one of the UK’s most influential car designers, cited the NSX as a major inspiration for his masterpiece, the McLaren F1.

This particular NSX was purchased by a group of individuals in 1991 with intent to preserve a highly-original NSX in factory-new condition. Originally delivered to Acura of Roslyn in New York, the car then made it to it's collectors in Chicago where it would be stored for the next 18 years in a private garage. During this time, just a few miles were added, mostly after an extensive service in 2008 where the mileage went from 42 to 53! This car was then sold to a collector car dealership in Dubai before ironically making its way back to Chicago in 2018, again joining a very significant private collection. Purchased and delivered in 2018 with 68 miles, the same mileage shown today! While being stored in its new home, the car was professionally cared for and started regularly.

You will be hard pressed to find a more original example of the world first "everday supercar."
