Description

This car was the last SLR roadster produced by McLaren in 2009. The car was registered as a prototype (hence the 9999 part of the chassis number) to assist MSO in developing options for the McLaren Edition SLR that was still on the drawing board at the time. This vehicle has the upgraded charge cooler radiator and associated ducting that was eventually fitted to the SLR Stirling Moss and is now offered as an upgrade to existing SLRs by MSO. "Stealth" was part of the McLaren Automotive Heritage Collection and was the single example of the 722S series of vehicles retained by the factory.

The most public outing for the car was the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2009, where the car was part of the Mercedes SLR McLaren parade that took place twice a day for the duration of the event. During the weekend, Lewis Hamilton drove the car up the famous hill climb, showboating for the crowd at every opportunity. There are numerous videos on YouTube, one of which is linked below.

Fast forward to 2014, "Stealth" was sold to a private collection in the United States, where it would reside with its one and only private owner for the last 11 years.
